She is now a retired U.S. Marine Corps Officer, Wife, Mother and Grandmother, who enjoys spending time with family as much as possible. She also loves her two shelter rescued dogs Belle and Buddy. She loves helping those in need by offering her time and emotional support. She is currently an independent distributor selling Essential Oils to incorporate a more natural life style by diffusing and using essential oil infused products. Her story is a description of a woman with amazing drive, a woman that served 23+ years in a very male dominated profession, and a women who talks about important leadership traits. She has such great wisdom and enthusiasm for living life in the moment.

This week, DR. Summer Watson features Karen O’Connor. She is a Modern Traditional Quilter behind the brand, “Lady K Quilts.” She has carved out a place for herself in the quilting industry over the last six years, and is in her busiest and most exciting year yet. She is a quilt designer, fabric lover, and quilty influencer. Karen’s first magazine contracted quilt pattern can be found in the pages of issue 62 of Love Patchwork & Quilting Magazine, with more magazine patterns hitting shelves later this year and into 2019. She can be found on Instagram @LadyKQuilts. You’ll catch her singing there too, sharing her ten years of classical voice training by singing occasionally on IG Stories and daily every December for #acaroladay.
